JDK Cleaning has secured the contract for the summer turn-around clean at the Prime Student Living Coppergate accommodation block on the Kingsway in Swansea.
Back in 2019, we carried out the post-construction and sparkle cleans at this 14-storey development, a job we completed in record time to enable the accommodation to open its doors to students.
Last month (August 2020), we started work on the turn-around clean which is carried out when the students from the last academic year have moved out and before the new ones move in.
The contract involves deep cleaning of this 310-bed development which comprises 24 self-contained studio apartments and 286 en-suite cluster flats of between 5 and 10 bedrooms spread across the 14-storey tower block and two six-storey wings. The job will be completed within a four-week time period from a JDK Cleaning team of six employees.
Due to the sheer number of rooms and apartments in the Coppergate accommodation, JDK Cleaning has put in place a robust planning processes by working closely alongside the client to enable the delivery of the contract in the specified timescales. Lines of communication have been clear at all times so that all parties have been aware of the planned vs actual cleaning schedules, allowing for flexibility on both sides, where rooms were not vacated or where cleans took longer than originally anticipated.
Says Jack Kelleher, MD of JDK Cleaning, “We have a strong reputation across South Wales and the West for delivering effective and efficient student accommodation turnaround cleans for a number of different organisations including Hello Student Accommodation in Cardiff and Bath. Having successfully completed the post-construction and sparkle cleans at this accommodation last year, we were delighted to have been invited back for the turnaround clean by Prime Student Living and we look forward to more joint projects going forward.”
