Playing our Part in the Relaunch of Plantasia

As the Evening Post reports on the £1.1 million investment of the city’s Plantasia attraction, JDK Cleaning has been commissioned to carry out a refurbishment clean of the venue ahead of the re-opening on 13 April.

The Swansea-based commercial cleaning company was approached by ‘Theme’ to carry out a clean of the pathways, café and washrooms which needed to be completed overnight to allow for the final touches to be added before Plantasia re-opens..

The JDK Cleaning team had to pay particular attention when cleaning the pathways to ensure they didn’t spray or contaminate any of the plants or live animals which are still housed in the venue.  In addition to using tried and tested cleaning techniques, the company also ensured that they used natural cleaning products with very low chemical content.

The job was started Tuesday 2nd April and completed within 8 hours, by a team of 8 experienced cleaners.

Says Jack Kelleher, MD of JDK Cleaning, “Since we won a major Tesco refurbishment contract at the end of 2018, we are gaining more and more long and short-term contracts from national organisations delivering local and regional projects.  Our reputation as a reliable, efficient and effective commercial cleaning company is growing steadily and we were delighted to be chosen as the preferred contractor to clean Plantasia ahead of its grand opening next week.”

When Plantasia opens on 13 April, visitors will be able to enjoy a dynamic new rainforest theme by getting up close and personal with exhibits such as spectacled caiman crocodiles and red-bellied piranhas.
